7th Solidarity Forum of Azerbaijani Volunteers

On December 5, 2024, the “VII Solidarity Forum of Azerbaijani Volunteers” was held at the Baku Convention Center, supported by the Azerbaijan Youth Foundation and organized by the Union of Volunteer Organizations of Azerbaijan, dedicated to the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World”, that marked the official launch of the Azerbaijan Volunteer Week 2024.

The forum was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, “ASAN Service”, and the “IDEA” Public Association, bringing together more than 3,000 volunteers from Azerbaijan. Ministers, deputy ministers, chairpersons, and other officials from various state institutions participated in the forum.

During the speeches, the importance of volunteer activities, their development, and the active participation of Azerbaijani volunteers at the COP29 International Climate Change Conference were highlighted. It was also emphasized that volunteering is not only an integral part of various sectors of society but also a crucial element of the state’s youth policy. Additionally, the state support provided to this field was underlined.

Furthermore, open exhibitions were showcased at the forum:

• Career Fair: Organized with the support of the State Employment Agency, aiming to enhance employment opportunities for volunteers.

• "From Waste to Art" Exhibition: Creative artworks made by volunteers using recycled materials were displayed.

The forum also recognized the most active volunteers in 5 nominations. These awards were presented to acknowledge their achievements in volunteer performances.
