B1Conference

On October 20, 2025, the opening ceremony of the “InnovateHER - Fuelling Women’s Success in STEM” project was held at the Baku Convention Center.

The event was jointly organized by the Azerbaijani Students and Alumni Platform (ASAP), the “Regional Development” Public Union, and the “Violette Mentorship” program, with the support of the National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for UNESCO.

The project aims to enhance women’s participation in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields, strengthen their knowledge and skills, and expand their career opportunities.

Within the framework of the program, it was highlighted that scientific and technological development in the modern world is one of the main pillars of a sustainable future, while women’s representation in this field plays a crucial role in shaping an inclusive society and ensuring gender equality. The importance of women’s active participation in all spheres of public life was emphasized, and various projects and initiatives implemented by the platform to encourage greater involvement of women in STEM fields were discussed.

Furthermore, it was highlighted that increasing women’s participation in STEM holds strategic importance not only for ensuring gender equality but also for the socio-economic development of society. The event concluded with a series of thematic seminars, training sessions, panel discussions, and mentorship programs.
